eXtreme Paddle is much more than the classic Pong game!

eXtreme Paddle-IP versus eXtreme Paddle:
eXtreme Paddle is the free version of eXtreme Paddle-IP. Both eXtreme Paddle and eXtreme Paddle-IP contain WiFi Bonjour and Bluetooth support. eXtreme Paddle is support by Apples iAd network. eXtreme Paddle-IP is iAd free.

Game Definition:
In the game you defend your territory by using your paddle to fend off the orb, deflecting it to attack your opponent. The orb can attack from multiple angles and increases in speed as the volleys accumulate, so keep your skills sharp.

Multiple levels of the game allows you to pick your attack and defensive forces.

Game reports volley count so you can attempt to beat your best! Log your high volley count in the App Store comments to show off your skills, but dont be offended when somebody else beats your score.

Game Options:
• Paddles large or small
• One or two sets of paddles
• Roving horizontal paddle
• Black hole with random location
• Roving vertical paddle
• Paddles with spring action
• Ball size large or small
• Sound on or off
• Quick exit after volley
• One or two screen mode for eXtreme Paddle-IP with two players

Game Play:
Game play is a combination of options above in one of three modes:
• Single player mode (you versus the computer).
• You versus a friend on the same device.
• You versus a friend, each on your own device via a wireless connection.

First player to reach 7 goals wins.

Game Control:
Use your finger or thumb to control the position of the bottom paddle. Tap instead of sliding for immediate placement of the paddle. If you are playing with multiple paddles, your finger or thumb controls both paddles simultaneously.

Game Requirements:
eXtreme Paddle-IP and eXtreme Paddle require an iPad, iPod Touch or an iPhone running iOS 3.0 or greater.

Pros and cons of eXtreme Paddle-IP app for iPhone and iPad

eXtreme Paddle-IP app good for

This game is super fun! Its hard at first, but once you get the hang of it, its hours of entertainment! Its ideal for all ages, and helpful to keep children entertained. The different levels add different types of challenges. Extreme paddle is awesome!
I could begin playing this game immediately. Its a great feature for busy people who are just trying to find a game without studying how to play. The network game option is an intereting idea. Now I can play this ultra micro tennis with anybody on this planet.
First off, the readme says this isnt pong. Levels 1, 2 and 3 come pretty close, although up and down not sideways, and the color scheme isnt pong. However levels 4, 5, and 6 go beyond pong. As a matter of fact, the bouncing vertical paddle in levels 5 and 6 can be quite frustrating and definitely keeps you on your toes. Its cost me plenty of lost volleys. The graphics of the game are not the best but they do not detract from the game play at all. As you play, the ball (or orb as the game calls it) gets faster. No big deal until the volley count gets above 20. If you make it to 30 volleys, the ball is really moving. I can get to 20 on a fairly regular basis but 30 is few and far between. Nobody I know of has made it to 40 yet. Perhaps the game should include a high score feature to see if anybody can get that high (consider that a suggestion). The game is fun enough to play solo (against the computer) but the IP portion of the title implies network ability. There are actually 3 dual player options. You can play two people on a single device (iPhone or Touch), you can two people on a WiFi connection each with their own device, or two people can play with a bluetooth connection. The bluetooth option allows play while sitting in the car or sitting in a restaurant or even sitting in a meeting (not that Ive ever done the later). There have been several free updates (new features added) to the game to its probably a game that will continue to improve over time.

Some bad moments
